About Me

I’m a curious, self-taught technologist with a background that spans QC and QA, SysAdmin, and now DevOps Engineering.

My passion for technology started early—at 12, when I fixed a broken computer disk drive with no manuals, no internet, and no guidance, driven purely by curiosity.

That same mindset has shaped my career. I enjoy learning by doing, solving problems, and continuously improving systems and processes.

I’ve also had the opportunity to work remotely with people from all over the world, which has strengthened both my technical skills and my ability to collaborate across cultures.

DevOps Engineer - OneCloud Systems

2018 - Present

In this company I have worked with different clients from different industries and using different technologies, with people from around the world, remotely.
I help customers to create, maintain and improve their infrastructure. Work with developers to create good pipelines.
Set up infrastructure mainly using Terraform but I also helped create and maintain infrastructure in CloudFormation.
Setting up CI/CD pipelines using mostly Jenkins, but I also was involved with CodePipeline, GitHub Actions and a little bit of BitBucket Pipelines.
Used Packer to create an AMI. Packer calls Ansible to provision the instance and then Terraform uses the resulting AMI to create the infra with an ASG ready to self heal and scale.
Combined a Jenkinsfile to use custom containers, using Dockerfiles to run the jobs.
Created a python script that was intented to be a helper to connect EggPlant to Jenkins, that way we could grab the resulting PDF files of an EggPlant execution (QA Tool) and save the resulting files as artifacts right into Jenkins, which happens to run right after a build job.
I have downsized a manually created Kafka clusters, which were runing overprovisioned in EC2 instances after part of the company was sold/migrated.
Participated in onCall rotations to help fix issues in production environments right when they happen. I have the knowledge, but I’m not willing to do it anymore, but if an issue happen when I am in front of the computer I will be happy to help, even if it’s not my working schedule.
Scrum and Kanban methodologies have been used depending on the client.

Test Engineer - Tripwire

2016 - 2018

Part of the development team as QA for a product that helped companies to be compliant with different security standards.
This was a Windows application that consisted in 3 parts: Server, Console (UI) & Agent (which was also sell as an Appliance).
Creation of test cases to test new features and regression test cases for existing features.
Peer review of test cases to mantain and improve the quality of our tests.
Used my linux backgroud to replicate reported issues with the tool. Suggest solutions to the developers.
Worked with Support to help them understand the tool and help them replicate issues reported by customers.
Our team started with the implementation of TDD (Test Driven Development).
Followed Scrum methodology.

TechOps Engineer - Evolve Media, LLC

2015 - 2016

System Administrator.
Worked with a team in a fast-paced environment to keep the company’s sites up and running, performing preventive and corrective actions.
Migration of systems to a different data center.
Creation of reports to analyze the performance of the different sites.

NOC Engineer

2012 - 2015

Website monitoring
First filter in case of incidents and responsible for investigating possible causes and following up with the people in charge.
Provide RCA (Root Cause Analysis) reports along some other types of reports.
Maintain an internally created tool, which helped to respond faster by putting the different metrics in a single place (NOC Tools)
Visual check of sites to detect possible issues not detected by the monitoring tools.
